Cassava Fries

The last time we were in Fiji, the resort didn't have cassava fries in their menu yet. It was new and we were eager to try them. Glad we did because they were really so good! They were more filling than potato fries and lease greasy too. Just perfect combination with our grilled reef fish!

Local Reef Fish

When it comes to food, what I really enjoyed most during our recent Fiji holiday was my lunch of grilled local reef fish. It came with some greens and colourful Fijian lime and orange fillet, sweet papaya and avocado. It was always sooo good! So good that I had it for lunch for a couple of days!

Quenching Tropical Drink

What beats the heat in the tropics other than diving into the cool water? Of course the cold drinks! Pick what you want but my favourite was the cold guava drink I always had with my fish. The taste of the tropics indeed!

Continental Breakfast

For my hubby, a continental breakfast in a tropical place is still nice although not necessary. I must admit his choice of croissant and crackers with cheese looked mouth-watering as well. Having several choices in food during a holiday is a holiday itself!

Fijian Local Fruits

My breakfast wasn't complete without this delight: a plate of Fijian local fruits! So sweet, juicy and above all, nutritious! I specially love the distinctive taste of their papaya and their very satisfying pineapple that even the hard part in the middle is edible!

Dessert Options

What's better than ending the day by confusing yourself which dessert to eat? Or maybe let's leave out the confusing part and just try them all! A much better option I guess. My Fijian escape was never complete without ending the day with lots of dessert. Yum!

Waffle Goodie

On our roadtrip to Wollongong, we wanted coffee and something upon arrival. I mean something small as we didn't want to be too full for dinner. I saw waffle on the menu and ordered it to be shared among us three. To my surprise, a giant waffle with ice cream on top was delivered to our table. Gasp! And it was really delicious!

Chinese Food for Dinner

After trying the Greek restaurant, we wanted something Asian the following night so we headed to the Dragon Cove Chinese resto at the Marine Village which just really a few walks from our hotel. Food was also great! We had fried noddles and crispy chicken for our main and we had these (in photo) filling and delicious appetizers: spring rolls, pork dumplings and the best wonton soup I ever had!

Candy Shop At Dreamworld

When my son saw the candy shop at Dreamworld, he couldn't help but run inside. I could understand the excitement! It was a candy and chocolate world! So colourful, sweet-smelling and delightful! It was hard which one to pick!

Yummy Pizza at Dreamworld

I didn't expect great food at a theme park so it was a big surpise. These pizzas were so good! Not salty at all and the yummy mozarella cheese was extra stretchy. I wish I had tabasco sauce with me but even without my tabasco, I almost ate my entire share :).

Greek Food Gold Coast

I miss Greek food a lot! I haven't had it since we came to Australia so I was excited to know that there was a good Greek restaurant near our hotel in the Gold Coast. Glad we made it that night, an awesome Greek dinner with calamaris and souvlaki, complete with garlic bread, feta cheeses and salad. We were so full but still managed to squeezed in creme caramel for dessert!

Bubba's Lunch

My now 6-year-old son, whom I still call bubba had this cute beef burger with chips for his lunch. He was happy with his choice. He was quite serious with tanking up some energy for his swimming later. Good eating + swimming + resting make a great holiday!

Club Sandwich for Lunch

For my lunch, I had the equally filling club sandwich with chips! Quite a generous serving for a petite lady like me :).  It was good food! Love my view of the pool while eating and the comfortable heat made the food more appetizing!

Fish and Chips

Fish and chips meal is always perfect when you're close to the water so hubby settled for this sumptuous lunch. The delicious salad was an awesome complement to the greasy food then just had to give it a fruity smoothie finish!

Fruit Smoothies

Upon arrival at our hotel in the Gold Coast, we settled to have a lunch by the pool side. It was hot enough to have some cold drinks so we got ourselves the yummy mango and strawberry smoothies. Lunch was great, it was almost tropical-like!

Mini Cakes

It's always hard if you're confronted with plenty of choices and when that happens, get everything :). So I got five mini cakes after my sumptuous dinner buffet! They all look mouth-watering so the dilemma is understandable.

Mouth-watering mini cakes!

Pakapaka Delight

This is one of the best seafood dishes I ever had, it's grilled Pakapaka fish that came with coarsely mashed potatoes, asparagus and capers. It was super delicious, nourishing and energy-giving. Worth every dollar spent! It was sooo good, I ordered it again the next day :).

Calamari Rings

My choice as we had that lovely lunch next to the beach in Fiji was this calamari rings with salt and pepper. They were fried to perfection: crunchy, brownish and not too greasy. I could tell, they were from fresh, medium-sized squid as they were not fishy and chewy. The dish came with a small bowl of sour cream and a slice of Fijian lime. Delicious!

Reef Burger

As hubby claims it, one of the  most delicious burgers he ever had! It's called the reef burger and it was indeed yummylicious (as I had a small bite of it)! The fish fillets were properly cooked but not dry and together with the tomato garnish on top and some salad, sandwiched on that top-grilled bread, it was such a tropical delight!

Seafood Skewer

My hubby's pick, mouth-watering seafood skewer! It was kind of him to share one mini octopus which was surprisingly really tasty! My first to time try octopus so now I know the deal about it.
